The Writer's Inspiration

"In about an hour an a half. Just a meeting about some song selections for an album" Helaine said with a smile.

Mira nodded slightly. "Alright," he replied. "I'll sleep then."

"Alright" Helaine said with a nod, driving back to his apartment.

Mira leaned against the door of the car, his eyes closed. His medication was already taking effect on him; he was so exhausted.

Helaine parked the car and got out. He gently opened the door and picked Mira up to take him into the apartment first.

Mira gasped when he was picked up and instantly tensed before he realized what happened and relaxed with a soft sigh, leaning his head against Helaine's shoulder.

"You okay?" Helaine asked, opening the door to his apartment before going to his bedroom, setting Mira down on his bed gently.

"Mm hm," Mira whispered and paused as he noticed where he was. He shook his head and sat up, crawling to the edge of the bed. "I-I can't stay in here," he mumbled.

"Why not? You're tired" Helaine said, kissing Mira's lips.

Mira returned the kiss before he turned his head away, sliding off the bed and swaying faintly; he was so tired he was dizzy. "I-I'll sleep on the couch, like before," he murmured.

"Why not sleep here?" Helaine asked, stopping him from getting off the bed.

"You said you didn't want me sleeping in it," Mira whispered, his head coming to rest against Helaine's shoulder as he fought to stay awake.

"Now I'm saying you can, so stay" Helaine whispered, getting him to lay back down.

Mira frowned but had little strength to fight any longer. "You're so confusing," he mumbled, already half asleep.

Helaine chuckled, kissing his cheek then left to grab the rest of Mira's things.

Mira was sound asleep by the time Helaine got back and he slept through to the next morning, not waking once. He must've been incredibly tired to have slept so long and it was a sure thing that the medication helped with that too.

Helaine went about his day, leaving when he had to for work then came back to sleep beside Mira on the bed.

Mira had barely moved from the spot where he lay and by the next morning, he shifted and slowly opened his eyes, feeling so much better than he had in days. He paused as he saw Helaine lying beside him and he frowned faintly before glancing around. He was still in Helaine's room. He chewed his lip slightly and quietly sat up, not wanting to be in the bed when Helaine woke up.

Helaine was snuggled close to Mira, holding him close.

Mira winced faintly, pausing and watching him for a few moments. He sighed and carefully pulled Helaine's arms away from him before quietly getting out of bed. He watched Helaine again and tucked him in before quietly tiptoeing towards the door.

Helaine opened his eyes and Mira got out of bed. "Morning" he mumbled before stretching.

Mira winced faintly and looked back at Helaine, chewing his lip. "Morning," he whispered. "Did, did I wake you?"

"Not purposely, if I sleep with someone I always wake up if they leave the bed" Helaine said with a yawn, stretching.

"Oh," Mira mumbled. "I'm sorry."

Helaine chuckled. "Don't worry about it" He said as he got up, walking over to him before hugging him although he was still naked.
